Accessibility Statement

My Commitment

With over 15 years of experience, I am committed to the principle that digital products should be inclusive and accessible to everyone. This portfolio has been designed and developed with the goal of meeting industry standards for web accessibility, specifically targeting the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA conformance.

I believe in iterative improvement. As I continue to build and share my work, I strive to ensure that all visitors—regardless of their ability or assistive technology—can navigate my professional journey with ease.

What Web Accessibility Is

An accessible site allows visitors with disabilities to browse the site with the same or a similar level of ease and enjoyment as other visitors. This can be achieved with the capabilities of the system on which the site is operating, and through assistive technologies.

Accessibility adjustments on this site

We have adapted this site in accordance with WCAG 2.1 guidelines, and have made the site accessible to the level of AA. This site's contents have been adapted to work with assistive technologies, such as screen readers and keyboard use. As part of this effort, we have also:

  • Used the Accessibility Wizard to find and fix potential accessibility issues (which is a data-driven approach for problem solving)

  • Set the language of the site (English:  <html lang="en">)

  • Set the content order of the site’s pages

  • Defined clear heading structures on all of the site’s pages

  • Added alternative text to images

  • Implemented color combinations that meet the required color contrast

  • Reduced the use of motion on the site

  • Ensured all videos, audio, and files on the site are accessible

  • Text and Readability: I have utilized a variety of font sizes and styles to create a clear visual hierarchy. All text is designed to remain legible when zoomed up to 200%

  • Keyboard Navigation: All interactive elements, including menus and buttons, are designed to be fully operable via a keyboard for users who do not use a mouse.

Video Accessibility

This portfolio utilizes video to showcase my collaborative style and provide deeper context for my work.

  • Silent Collaboration Video (Home Page): The video on my home page is purely visual and does not contain audio content. It is intended to show my real-world stakeholder interaction. I have provided a descriptive text alternative [in the ARIA label/Description below the video] to ensure its purpose is clear to all users.

  • Explainer Videos: For videos where I explain my case studies or background, I provide:

    • Closed Captioning: Select the CC button at the bottom of the video player to enable captions.

    • Transcripts: A text transcript is available for these videos to ensure the information is accessible without sound or for those using refreshable braille displays.

Known Limitations & Continuous Improvement

Despite my best efforts, I recognize that some areas of this site may still present challenges. Currently, I am working on:

  • Refining the descriptions for complex architecture diagrams.

  • Ensuring 100% compliance for third-party embeds (if applicable).

If you encounter any difficulty, please let me know. I view accessibility as a core part of my product roadmap.
